The Epic Tale of Creating a Christmas Card
December 23, 2015
The last few months have been full of, shall we say, perspective. With so many negative news stories, we’ve watched people revert to their basest fears. But we remain stalwartly optimistic and open hearted.
For our Christmas gift to clients this year, we have chosen to give to a charity on their behalf. To select the charity, we looked at our clients’ philanthropic interests and we then had our team vote on their preference.
The winner: The World Wildlife Fund
Poor Andy was briefed quickly over luke-warm coffee. “All staff here at Famous Folks have Spirit Animals”, she said. “And the World Wildlife Fund protects animals. Maybe do something along those lines?”
(She also said: “This is the worst brief I’ve ever given, but to sweeten the pot you’ve got creative control. It’s got to be deliverable via email as a JPEG, but otherwise, giv’er”)
As Andy’s a trooper he just put his head down and started a-sketchin’.
And those sketches were pretty cool.
Check it Out
Because it’s normally for client work, we don’t often have the ability to share our sketches. But when it’s for us, we’re happy to show you where Andy, and Matt, and Bruce took it. This one below is the winner – but check out the bottom of the page to see some original concepts.
Some of it’s a wee bit dark (poor Rudolph!) – but all of them bridge the gap between the charity, the purpose, and Famous Folks.
Happy Holidays Everyone.
