Membertou 400

A culture to celebrate.

/ Summary

Four hundred years ago, Grand Chief Henri Membertou became the first person baptized in the Dominion of Canada, an event that signified peace with the European nations — momentous for both the Mi’kmaq people and the evolution of our country. Famous Folks was therefore incredibly honoured to be selected as the agency to promote the 400th anniversary celebration.

In addition to a re-enactment in Port Royal, the celebration included a national Pow-Wow in the Halifax Common. Drumming, dancing, cultural celebrations, a concert with Buffy Sainte Marie… a tremendous schedule had to be showcased, and our team faced the challenge with inspiration and enthusiasm.
