Nova Scotia’s Renewable to Retail programme opened the door to an alternative electricity provider. In a market exposed to fossil fuel price volatility and repeated electricity cost increases, Renewall needed to explain why switching was worthwhile. We built the positioning around choice and independence, giving people a practical reason to consider clean energy alongside its environmental benefits.
“An energy future we all can afford” brought those motivations together. Developed early in the strategy, the line connected concern for the future with concern about cost. For businesses, the messaging emphasized reliable service and long-term energy planning through signed power purchase agreements, making Renewall relevant to financial decisions as well as sustainability commitments.

The visual identity took a deliberately positive approach. Illustrations showed Nova Scotians from different walks of life enjoying the everyday activities electricity makes possible. We carried that optimism through motion, content, and the website, expressing the offer through familiar experiences and tangible benefits. The brand gave people something to look forward to in a category often dominated by warnings about what they stood to lose.

Together, the strategy and creative gave Renewall a clear way to explain an unfamiliar offer to residential and business audiences. The resulting brand connected local generation, dependable service, and predictable pricing within one coherent story. Renewall sold out its available capacity well over a year before supplying electricity to its first customer, demonstrating demand ahead of service delivery.
